That is a fantastic shade of blue, good sir! What’s the engine/transmission combo? I’ve always liked those cars, though I don’t think we got a hatchback version.

I love the color! I’m sick of everything grey or black or white...

It’s a D3 with the Volvo developed engine. So a 2l 4 cylinder diesel. It's mated to a 6-speed automatic, couldn't find one with a manual :/

This gen V40 only came as a 5-door hatch worldwide (except US/Canada, where it didn’t make it).

Looks great! The Thor’s Hammer facelift looks awesome on these. The front seats are amazing even though the rear’s not the comfiest IMO . My mom has a pre-facelift one but luckily it also has the 2.5T I-5 with AWD.

Too bad, but at least you are bringing some color back to the automotive landscape. I believe that the color really makes a huge difference in how much people like their cars. I wonder how I would feel about my own car if it weren’t an amazing hybrid of red/orange with a bronze metallic flake.

It’s a Volvo V40, it shares its platform with the last gen Ford Focus.

Before the face-lift they were using Ford engines (the small 1.6 diesel was also shared with PSA). After 2016 they moved on Volvo designed engine which consists of a bunch of variation around a 2l 4cyl turbo engine

Indeed it is (although 42 is on it) .

I haven’t been to the south for years but I re call that on crossing the Loire everything looked somehow different an d the tiled roofs were part of that difference.

It is so hard to capture the depth of a paint in a photo. Take these two for instance.

I do love a good bright blue. I’m partial to the more extreme Polestar hue but such an unapologetic  interpretation of blue is always refreshing.

Geely. They only own Volvo C ars though, the original Volvo continues with trucks, buses and construction equipment.

Pretty! I used to think the “mustache” front bumper on the R-Design cars was a bit goofy, but I’ve grown to appreciate it in due time, especially with the facelifted headlights!

It has grown on me too. And to be fair, I think the V40 looks better with the R-Design package.

Not a fan of it on the other cars or on the SUVs.
